Call for papers

Image generated by DALL-E model based on workshop call for papers.

The workshop is closely aligned with the overarching theme of the main 20th International Conference on Intelligent Environments, and is dedicated to exploring Intelligent Environments in the food and forestry sectors. The program seeks to address the data- and knowledge-driven challenges associated with the transition to sustainable agriculture and forestry and the enhancement of already existing sustainable agricultural and forestry systems. The workshop will explore the varieties of cutting-edge AI methods. These include explainable AI methods for building decision trees, rule-based models, etc., as well as less interpretable ones such as deep neural networks, support vector machines, and random forests. The workshop will provide opportunities to demonstrate their practical applications in extracting valuable knowledge from data and text, and will give a chance to discuss how they can be employed in autonomous technical systems for various precision agricultural topics (e.g., weed and pest control, fertilisation, irrigation, thinning and harvesting, etc.). In addition, the workshop will also allow participants to show how AI results can be used in the development of decision models and advanced decision support systems. In particular, this could include their use in assessing and managing agricultural and forestry sustainable production or in improving supply chain sustainability. Improvements in end-user interaction with the smart agricultural and forestry environment could also be presented.
